Carol Rose Tscherter was born on August 29, 1946, in Dubuque, IA, to her parents Donald and Cecilia (Berning) Thimmesch. Carol attended Ankeny High School and graduated with the class of 1964 along with her High School sweetheart, Steven Tscherter. She and Steve met in High School while singing in the choir together, they were later married on February 26, 1966, at Our Lady's Immaculate Heart Church in Ankeny. Carol and Steve moved around briefly before settling in Reinbeck in 1979 when Steve accepted a position at Lincoln Savings Bank. Carol spent most of her time raising their 4 children Lisa, Alan, Brian, and Aaron.

Carol enjoyed many hobbies including photography where she loved to submit photos to KWWL and always tuned in to see if they were shown during the weather forecast. She was well known for her baking and she was always making cakes, cookies, and sweets to share. She loved being a grandmother, spending time attending the many events and sporting events of her grandchildren. Carol enjoyed playing cards, board games, and watching movies and tv, especially the Hallmark Channel. She deeply loved spending time with her sisters which seemed to involve endless laughter. She had a big heart, donating to many causes and volunteering her time at the Reinbeck Schools and to Saint Gabriel Catholic Church where she was a member. Carol's charm, laugh, and selfless giving will be deeply missed by those who knew her.
